Summer beaches and friends
I've been thinking I have to write in English for all my non Spanish speaking friends but well time goes by... And it's also quite boring to translate the blogs from Spanish, because I don't even think in the same way in Spanish and English and it wouldn't be the same thing anyway. Let's see from the last time I wrote... oops February? it was when I came back from going around the world, and of course it's such a thing, so big, that it's hard to get something as impressive to write. But well you could argue that Uppsala is quite impressive as well. And even when it was a beautiful trip but we also missed our friends, our families :) the ones you want to come back to share your stories with.
As I said Uppsala is quite unique too, it's such a university culture that you suddenly see people walking in tuxedos with black long hats and it almost feels normal. All the year long there are disputations, student parties, balls, chorus singing in the streets... And the city itself is quite photogenic, with the cathedral, the old town, the castle, the students biking, and now the Spring flourishing in every corner. Then when you get out of the city there are a lot of lakes, the summer beaches, which couldn't differ more from my idea of a beach. Instead of sand they have grass or trees just beside the water, and the water is so calm (and so cold, sorry I couldn't help to add this). Well these are the lake beaches, then if you get to the sea there are these big, plain stones where the sunset reflects in an orangish light. And still no waves, no sand, and probably not even people. Also very probably it will rain but in the best cases not for long and when the sun comes back the greens are even brighter. Really.
I upload some pictures of friends around the world: In Sweden, in China and in Aitutaki.
